Concert Band
Membership of the Concert Band is open to all woodwind, brass and percussion players of at least Grade 7 standard with ensemble playing experience, subject to the need to maintain an appropriate balance between different sections.
There are no formal auditions, but we invite prospective new members to join for three rehearsals to enable the Band to get to know you, and for you to get to know us. Membership is then at the discretion of the Musical Director. For more information please contact Ian Harby, our Musical Director.
Training Band
Our Training Band welcomes less experienced players and offers a great opportunity to develop your skills with a friendly and supportive group of musicians. For further information, contact Patrick Browne, the Conductor. who will invite you to a few rehearsals and introduce you to the musicians in your section. If you decide to continue, you will be asked to pay a small subscription and will be given the music for the current repertoire. All we ask from you is a commitment to attend the rehearsals and gigs, and to have fun!
Rehearsals
Both bands rehearse weekly on Friday evenings during school term times at Knole Academy, Bradbourne Vale Road, Sevenoaks TN13 3LE.
Timings are:
- Training Band – 6:00 to 7:30pm
- Concert Band – 7:45 to 9:45pm
Knole Academy is on the north side of the A25, mid-way between Riverhead and Sevenoaks Hospital. Park to the left of the main entrance. Enter the building through the main front door and continue ahead to the rehearsal hall. Click here for a map.
